Gather on the banks of the Yellow River to sing for the splendid Yellow River culture in the new era. As a part of the Yellow River Culture Month, from April 24thto April 27th, 20 music experts, 19 excellent performance teams, and 71 competition teams, as well as more than 5,000 chorus amateurs from the nine provinces and autonomous regions along the Yellow River brought 16 wonderful choral performances for millions of Zhengzhou residents.
相聚黄河之畔，共唱新时代黄河文化的壮丽乐章。作为黄河文化月系列活动月重要活动之一，4月24日至27日，来自全国各地的20位业界专家、19支优秀展演团队和71支参赛团队，以及沿黄九省（区）的5000余名合唱爱好者，为千万郑州市民带来16场精彩纷呈的高水平合唱赛事。

At the opening ceremony, conductor Prof. Wu Lingfen from the Chorus of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, secretary-general Li Xiaoxiang from the China Chorus Association, famous baritone Yuan Chenye, and famous soprano Ke Lvwa sang the Yellow River Cantatatogether with musicians from the Chorus of Shandong University of Arts, Bailing Chorus of Inner Mongolia Arts University, Xi‘an Zhuque Chorus, Chorus of Northwest Normal University, Chorus of Sias University, Chorus of Henan Vocational Institute of Arts, and the Henan Symphony Orchestra.
开幕式上，国家大剧院合唱团指挥吴灵芬教授携中国合唱协会秘书长李小祥、中国十大男中音歌唱家袁晨野、中国十大女高音歌唱家柯绿娃以及山东艺术学院合唱团、内蒙古艺术学院百灵合唱团、西安朱雀合唱团、西北师范大学合唱团、郑州西亚斯学院合唱团、河南艺术职业学院合唱团及河南交响乐团的音乐家们，带来了交响合唱作品《黄河大合唱》。
"Since its creation in 1939, the Yellow River Cantataembodies the spirit of the Chinese nation and the connotation of the Yellow River Culture. This is a highlight of Xian Xinghai‘s works." Prof. Wu Lingfen, the first dean of the Conducting Department of China Conservatory of Music, conductor of the Chorus of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, and art director of the China (Zhengzhou) Yellow River Chorus Festival, said that each era has its representative inspiring works. TheYellow River Cantatagave people confidence in forging ahead and overcoming disasters and torments. That‘s the significance of this work in that era. Now, theYellow River Cantatahas a new meaning—working harder with sleeves rolled up.
“从1939年创作至今，《黄河大合唱》一直持续不断传达着民族精神，体现着黄河文化的内涵，这也是冼星海这一系列作品的重要价值。”中国音乐学院指挥系首任系主任，国家大剧院合唱团指挥、中国（郑州）黄河合唱周艺术总监吴灵芬教授表示，每个时代都有不同的鼓舞人心的作品，《黄河大合唱》鼓舞人们勇往直前，战胜灾难、苦痛，这是它对于时代的意义。到了如今，时代也赋予了《黄河大合唱》新的内涵，这就是“撸起袖子加油干”的奋斗精神。

Wu Lingfen said that she had conducted the Yellow River Cantatamany times and this time she came to Huiji District on the banks of the Yellow River. In Zhengzhou, the center of heaven and earth, she witnessed infinite vigor and vitality of this city. People from the nine provinces along the Yellow River played theYellow River Cantatafor the new era of regional high-quality development.
“黄河是母亲河，母亲河所哺育的地方，人民也应该像黄河一样坚强。”吴灵芬表示，这首作品她已经指挥了很多次，此次来到天地之中郑州、黄河之畔惠济，见证了这里的人们充满活力，这里的发展也满是生机，“沿黄九省人民用高质量发展奏响了新时代的’黄河大合唱’”。

On the afternoon of April 24 th, Jin Chengzhi and the Rainbow Chamber Singers performed theGalaxy Hotel, combining humorous, lovely, funny elements with deep, delicate, cultural elements. With a heart-healing effect, it was the first performance during the China (Zhengzhou) Yellow River Chorus Festival.
4月24日下午，郑州大剧院，金承志与上海彩虹室内合唱团献上一场《星河旅馆》音乐会，将幽默、可爱、古灵精怪和深沉、细腻、文人情怀融为一体，带领观众进行了一次心灵之旅，也开启了中国（郑州）黄河合唱周的首场艺术展演。

当天的演出曲目包括《我喜欢》《玉门关》《我歌唱的理由有很多》《星河旅馆》。其中，《我喜欢》将初恋青涩味道表现得淋漓尽致，《玉门关》唤起观众的唐朝印象和黄河印象，《我歌唱的理由有很多》是上海彩虹室内合唱团建团十周年团庆的特别曲目，《星河旅馆》则是金承志创作的第六部艺术套曲。一首首经典作品充分展现了上海彩虹合唱团的独特魅力与超高水准。
After the performance, Jin Chengzhi said, "This is my first time coming to Henan and Zhengzhou. I am deeply impressed by this city. Especially the people here are very hospitable. I like the spicy soup most. I hope that Huiji District on the banks of the Yellow River can organize more activities like this. In the future, I will consider creating more works about the Yellow River."
演出结束后，金承志说：“我是第一次来到河南、来到郑州，对郑州的印象很好，觉得郑州最美的风景是人的热情，印象最深刻的美食是胡辣汤，希望位于黄河岸边的惠济区多举办这样的活动。下一步，我会考虑创作更多有关黄河文化的作品。”

Regarding the changes in Zhengzhou in pursuit of high-quality development, guests participating in the chorus festival had much to say. CCTV host Zhang Zequn, a special guest for this chorus festival, recalled that in his childhood, he had gone on a long journey for the first time to see the inaugural ceremony of the Yellow River Bridge. At that time, there was a vast expanse of wasteland in northern Zhengzhou. While currently, rows of buildings have been erected here, and roads are crowed with people and vehicles. Northern Zhengzhou has developed into a vibrant new modern district. He said with a smile that today‘s Zhengzhou is more beautiful in natural scenery and people‘s courtesy.
提及高质量发展给郑州带来的变化，来参加合唱周的嘉宾们有说不完的感受。合唱周特邀嘉宾、中央广播电视总台主持人张泽群回忆说，小时候他第一次出远门，就是跟着妈妈去看黄河大桥通车典礼。那时，郑州北区还是一片荒郊野岭。如今，再次来到惠济区，看到了这里高楼鳞次栉比，城市车水马龙，完全是一个充满活力的现代化新城区。他笑道：“今天的郑州，山中、水中、人更中！”
Li Shuliang, deputy director of the Chorus of Lanzhou Concert Hall, is a Zhengzhou native. He has been working in Lanzhou since graduation. "I am very pleased that we could perform in my hometown. This time, 77 of my colleagues came here. They all said that Zhengzhou did well in landscaping and urban management. The theater boasts world-class environments and sound effects. They expect to perform again in Zhengzhou." Li Shuliang added, "The Yellow River Culture Month is of great significance. It is a different experience for us to sing for the Yellow River and listen to the sound of the Yellow River in Zhengzhou."
兰州音乐厅合唱团副团长李书亮是土生土长的郑州人，大学毕业后留在兰州工作。“此次能回到家乡演出我觉得非常亲切，我们合唱团来了77名团员，都说郑州园林绿化、城市管理非常好。剧场的环境、音效都是一流的，大家都希望以后多来郑州演出。”李书亮表示，“黄河文化月活动非常有意义，能来到位于黄河之滨的郑州颂黄河、听黄河，给我们带来了不一样的体验。”
