一、blind 形容词。意思是“盲、瞎”。

二、the blind 意思是“盲人、瞎子”。

在英语里有些形容词和定冠词the连用时，表示的是一类人或东西，此时它就接近一个名词，可以说是名词化了的形容词。在句中可以作主语、宾语等。当表示的某一类人或东西作主语时，谓语动词要用复数。定冠词the加常见形容词列举如下：

blind --- the blind 盲人

deaf --- the deaf 聋人

dead --- the dead 死者

poor --- the poor 穷人

oppressed --- the oppressed 受压迫的人

rich --- the rich 富人

lowly --- the lowly 卑贱者

elite --- the elite 高贵者
