many、 few、 little、 much是表示数量的形容词，这些形容词也称为不定代词。有的之后要接复数名词，有的只能接不可数名词，有的则两者皆可。具体如下：

1.之后须接复数名词者

few 有少数，没几个

=only a few

a few 有几个

many 许多个

=quite a few

例：He has few friends .他没有几个朋友。（他的朋友很少）

I have a few friends.我有几个朋友。

She has many friends . 她有许多朋友。

2.之后须接不可数名词者

little 很少，没多少

a little 有一点

much 许多

=quite a little

例：He has little money . 他没有多少钱。（他几乎没钱）

He has a little money. 他有一点钱。

He doesn‘t have much money. 他的钱不多。

3.之后可接复数名词和不可数名词者

some 一些

a lot of 许多的

plenty of 不少的，相当多的

例： He has some friends /moeny . 他有一些朋友/钱。

He has a lot of friends/money. 他有许多朋友/钱。

He has plenty of friends/money. 他有不少朋友/钱。
